The lack of opportunity for many children to play sports, the need to promote a healthy lifestyle as part of improving sports culture and preserving the health of children and the entire population of the country.
The goal of the program is to involve children and young people in sports and increase its accessibility, as well as to popularize a healthy lifestyle and sports among young people.
The objectives of the program:
improving the material and technical base of secondary schools;
creating conditions for improving the level of sportsmanship of coaches, players and school teams;
creation of a unified system of school competitions;
promotion of a healthy lifestyle among schoolchildren;
popularization of basketball, attracting schoolchildren to regular trainings.
Children and youth of the Russian Federation studying in general educational institutions, pupils of orphanages and boarding schools, the KES-BASKET School Basketball League, regional ministries of sports and education, basketball federations.
The championship is not limited to rival matches, but is a truly outstanding event in the world of sports. The project includes seminars for coaches, camps for referees, master classes for young athletes and much more. The intense program of the super final includes competitions, many cultural and leisure events not only for athletes, but also for judges and coaches, and also provides children with the opportunity to meet world sports stars and learn from them. The best players at the end of the tournament get a chance to join professional basketball clubs.
KES-BASKET is the result of multilateral cooperation. In each region, the project is being implemented through the signing of quadripartite agreements between the School Basketball League KES-BASKET, regional ministries of sports and education and basketball federations, which makes it possible to involve not only government bodies, but also public organizations in the development of sports. As a result, it was possible to create a special community of representatives of government, business, cultural and sports figures, united by the goal of developing children's sports in the regions of Russia and popularizing basketball.
PJSC "T Plus", being the general sponsor of the League, provides it with comprehensive support. In addition to financing events,
the company equips teams and provides schools with the necessary equipment, as well as award products. This significantly increases the accessibility of sports and improves the material and technical base of training facilities in schools. The company sincerely hopes that more children will be able to train in well-equipped schools, get carried away by the spirit of sports competition and fall in love with sports.
Over the entire history of the existence of the KES-BASKET School Basketball League, more than a million matches have been played.
Over the entire duration of the project (at the end of 2023), PJSC "T Plus" donated about 832 thousand medals, 493 thousand basketballs, 126 thousand sets of basketball uniforms and 6 thousand sets of referee uniforms to schools.
More than 16 thousand teams and more than 245 thousand participants from 72 constituent entities of the Russian Federation took part in the 2022/23 season of the School Basketball League Championship.
In the 2023/24 season, based on the results of the application campaign, 80 regions and almost 18 thousand teams will take part.
