“Warm Tales” were conceived so that children and adults, by reading books and listening to audio tales, would learn more about their national culture and the traditions of those who live nearby.
“Warm Tales” is a cultural and educational project. The goal was to find tales that, on the one hand, would reflect the myths and life of the people, and on the other, would present readers with rare stories.
It is of great value to the Company to be able to contribute to the preservation and dissemination of unique cultures. We are all neighbors in a certain sense – we live and work nearby, communicate, exchange news and each other’s cultural codes. Conveying the peculiarities of the worldview and way of life of different peoples, tales will help us learn even more about each other.
The project is available to all residents of the country, to children and adults
The collection of materials took place in special expeditions, while our sources were folklorists from research institutes, employees of national cultural centers, storekeepers of national libraries and real grandmothers-storytellers.
Many of the tales never been published before.
The connecting thread of the book was the end-to-end tale that runs through the entire narrative. It leads the reader from one tale to another, taking him further and further into the world of magical stories and their heroes.
Each tale is presented in the book in Russian and in its native language.
All of them are voiced and available for listening on a special PAGE (https://teplye-skazki.ru/).
On the pages the reader will find QR codes, by scanning you can hear audio versions also in two languages. Representatives of indigenous peoples will be able to read and listen to tales in their national language, and Russian-speaking children and adults will learn about the alphabets and sounds of the languages of different peoples of Russia.
The publication includes works in 16 languages – 17 tales of indigenous and small peoples living in the territory of the company's presence: Russians, Udmurts, Besermyans, Chuvash, Mordovians, Mountain and Meadow Mari, Komi-Zyryans and Komi-Permyaks, Khanty, Mansi, Nenets, Tatars, Bashkirs, Kazakhs.
More than 200 minutes of audio tales.
With the project, we support the cultural and linguistic identity of indigenous small peoples (in our book there are tales of three indigenous small peoples – Khanty, Mansi, Besermyans – from the Common List of Minor Indigenous Peoples of Russia). In particular, the Besermans, who live only on the territory of Udmurtia. Their heritage is extremely difficult to find, we went to the Udmurt wilderness to the national Besermyan center, talked to native speakers, and the book includes two Besermyan fairy tales. Thus, we not only contributed to the preservation of their folklore, but also gave a wide audience the opportunity to get acquainted with their culture, language and identity.
